We finally had a chance to eat here. Everything was very good. The chicken wings are like my grandma cooked them. Thank you for the great service. Sharon.

A hidden gem. Delicious food, great cornbread. Place looks a bit sketch but soooo worth it! Coming back soon

Back again!! 4th time we been there. Got the baby back ribs, spicy sausage plate, beans and potatoes salad, and the catfish plate with yams & mac & cheese. All tastes great, catfish crunchy crust, great flavor and moist meat. Ribs & sausage great with the sweetness and tangy bbq sauce. This small place could use a it of fixing up but inside eating area is small with about 5 tables. Clean. The sweet yams so good. Nice friendly service. They deserve a better location but worth the drive if you're in Coachella Valley, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, etc. I highly recommend.

Southern home style food. It was hard to find but SO worth it. Nothing fancy but the people are friendly and the food is DELICIOUS!

The restaurant ambience is not great but the food is delicious. The barbecued ribs are delicious. The collard greens are not bitter but very tasty. The oxtails were fabulous. They close very early. Great for lunch. The place is a hole-in-the-wall but the food is totally worth it.

Ordered the 5-piece wings meal...and this spots doesn't disappoint. Black-owned business that's definitely worth supporting.

Give this place a try, food amazing and family even better. Try the cornbread and mac&cheese

Great soul food in the desert! They ran out of catfish and peach cobbler the day we went but, the ribs and sausage plate we had we so good and the portions were great. We also had Mac & Cheese and red beans and rice added to the plate that already came with potato salad and baked beans.
Great family owned and ran little spot off the beaten path. Small inside so maybe be prepared to take your food to go.
We'll be back next time were in town, hoping try the peach cobbler!

I found this gem while home hunting in the summer of 2019. The service in 2019 was not up to par, very unorganized. The owner ? an elderly gentleman was mixing up the orders and took forever to make them. I could tell he was overwhelmed. I knew I would be back as he was pleasant and the place felt like an old diner back in the day.
The food delivered on flavor and was absolutely delicious. Back then I ordered fried chicken with collard greens, macaroni and cheese for the sides. No complaints with the food. Seasoned to perfection and presentation on par.
Fast forward to 2023. The service is a 10 and the food is still a 10. My last order was the fried catfish filet, Mac and cheese and collard greens. As usual the food was seasoned just right and the taste screamed southern home cooking.
I would recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Southern soul food. According to the name and menu they specialize in barbecue . I have yet to order the barbecue.
The place is small, it seats about 12 people? So if you have a small party you all can get in and get a table. I mostly order my food to go.
The venue isn't fancy however the food is delicious and definitely worth trying.

Awesome awesome awesome! Some of the best bbq we've ever had! We got the tri-tip dinner with Mac and cheese and yams (yams ftw!) and baby back ribs with collard greens and red beans and rice. Pretty sure they make their own bbq sauce too as it was different and out of this world! Love that it's a hidden gem.
